Dorridge Methodist Church Centre
Environmental Policy

Dorridge Methodist Church recognises the need to protect the environment and to use resources in a way that provides for future generations. Dorridge Methodist Church aims to develop and maintain a high standard of environmental awareness and to continuously improve its environmental performance in its own activities and within the greater community wherever it has control or influence.

Dorridge Methodist Church will:

Endeavour to prevent pollution, reduce waste and integrate environmental factors into its stewardship decisions

Seek ways to use the skills and influence of its congregation to improve the built environment and to maintain the integrity  and quality of the natural and cultural environment through stewardship activities at  home and overseas

Become a Fair Trade Church, purchase as much as practicable from Fair Trade organisations and promote the use of Fair Trade goods to the congregation and the wider community

Work with all groups (congregation, internal and external organisations) to raise the environmental awareness for all activities in which these groups operate

Monitor its own environmental performance for compliance with regulations and strive to do better than they require, wherever possible and appropriate

Regularly review its environmental strategies and publicise its environmental performance and achievements

To implement the above Policy, we are encouraging all users of our premises to:

REDUCE, RE-USE AND RECYCLE.

A
We encourage both the church and the local community to buy fairly traded goods
