Windmills has been established since 1970 and has undergone several name changes over the years. First, as Dorridge Methodist Church Under Fives Group, then Windmills Playgroup and now Windmills Pre-School. None of these name changes affects who we are and what we do. We are a church group specialising in the care and education of under five's. We do this at our Two's group which is run by Lynn Taylor and is a toddler group for children and their carers from the age of 15 months. Our Pre-School offers good quality care and early year’s education for children from the age of 2 years and 6 months up to 5 years.

Dorridge Methodist Church Council is responsible for the group but the day to day running of the group lies with Lynn Taylor as the manager and her deputy Mrs Beverly Oliver. Both these ladies have many years' experience and are qualified to level three. The other members of staff are all currently undertaking training to level three.  

We are pleased to let you know that YOUR Pre-School has been inspected by Ofsted and received a ‘Good’ inspection report against the National Care Standards.  Good is the top grade we can get and we are all really proud.  We would like to thank everyone at church for their support and also the children and parents who use our group.

Ofsted consider that we doing the following things well:

‘Children are offered a good variety of stimulating and interesting toys and resources which encourages them to learn through play.  The room is organised so that the children have the opportunity to participate in a range of activities to include physical, creative, imaginative and pre-school learning. Activity plans are well organised around the needs of the children and cover all aspects of development

‘Children’s independence and self esteem is encouraged through consistent expectations of behaviour.  Good behaviour is praised
